New Open World RPG Seven Deadly Sins Origin Unveils Trailer at TGA 2025

Netmarble revealed a new trailer for its upcoming Open World Action RPG, ‘Seven Great Sins: Origin,’ during the Global Game Awards ‘The Game Awards (TGA) 2025’ held at the Pikok Theater in Los Angeles on the 12th (Korea time).

This video captured the interest of gamers globally through its high-definition visuals powered by Unreal Engine 5 and engaging narrative design. In the trailer, sequences featuring flying over Britannia on a flying companion alongside characters like Meliodas and Tristan, as well as a raid battle against formidable bosses with real-time cooperative multiplayer, were showcased, highlighting the direction of the multiplayer open-world experience that ‘Origin’ is aiming for.

Netmarble stated that this is a design that emphasizes cooperative gameplay, where players tackle various challenges with users from around the world, as the central aspect of the experience, going beyond basic open-world exploration. Specifically, the scene that suggests the potential return of Escanor via the multiverse concept is anticipated to boost fans’ excitement.

Netmarble stated that it chose to unveil the video at this TGA in order to swiftly boost awareness of the new project. At the same time, ‘Seven Deadly Sins: Origin’ was presented by Sony on the 10th as a highly anticipated PS5 release scheduled for 2026. A total of 15 films are expected to be released by Sony in 2026, including two Korean games named ‘Seven Deadly Sins: Origin’ and ‘Red Desert’.

The game, scheduled for release in January next year, carried out a closed beta test (CBT) for global users in October and garnered favorable feedback, with 95% of participants indicating they would like to play it even after the official launch. This open-world action RPG is based on the well-known cartoon ‘Seven Great Sins,’ which has sold over 55 million copies worldwide. It enables players to explore the British continent freely, exchange heroes during critical moments, engage in tag battles, use powerful combinations, and change actions depending on weapon and hero pairings. Additionally, it includes various multiplayer features, such as forming a party with a friend in the open world to go on an adventure or take on a boss challenge.

Global pre-registration is currently underway, and those who sign up will be eligible for rewards including ‘Wind’s Gust Double Sword (weapons)’, ‘weapons Growth Materials’, and ‘100,000 Gold’ to support early-game progression. The game will launch simultaneously across all platforms, including consoles, PCs, and mobile devices. Console versions will be available on PS5, while PC versions will be distributed via Steam.
